That outfit is a no-no.

Athleisure wear has become the go-to flight uniform for many travelers — since most people don’t want to be stuck wearing an uncomfortable outfit on a long flight.

However, flyers might want to reconsider their next airport fit because experts are saying that leggings are probably the worst piece of clothing you could wear on an airplane.

And with all of the recent plane accidents — people might want to take extra precautions when flying these days.

According to aviation safety specialist Christine Negroni — most brands of leggings are made from synthetic fibers and petroleum products “which is not something you want to wear on an airplane because the largest risk in a survivable air accident is fire,” she told HuffPost.

Negroni explained that in the event of a fire outbreak on a flight —  the tight stretchy pants “will either melt on your skin or cause serious burns.”

In addition to leggings being a potential fire hazard on board — American Airlines flight attendant Andrea Fischbach said that the popular pant choice is also very constricting.

“You want to get the most comfortable you can be to avoid cramping, swelling, and anything that can affect you later,” she told Who What Wear.

Another danger is sitting for a while in an upright position while wearing something restrictive, like leggings because it can eventually lead to pools of blood in your veins — later potentially resulting in varicose veins.

Furthermore, “Wearing clothes that are too tight can potentially lead to conditions like compartment syndrome or meralgia paresthetica, causing numbness, tingling, and severe leg pain,” Dr. Peter J. Pappas, a vascular surgeon with the Center for Vein Restoration told HuffPost.

While tight pants is a flying no-no, so are shorts and skirts.

“You never know how clean the seat is going to be – so if you have pants, you’re going to have less germs,” flight attendant Tommy Cimato said in a TikTok video.

By wearing loose-fitting pants, a flyer can minimize the contact their body has with a potentially germ-filled seat.

Experts also advise flyers to pay attention to their footwear.

“I would really advise against high heels or flip-flops or any slides, mostly for safety purposes,” Fischbach said.

“If there is an evacuation and slides [to safely exit the plane] are required, your high heels will have to come off, as they can puncture the slide,” she continued.

“Who knows where and in what conditions you’ll land. Plus, they aren’t very practical running gate to the gate.”

If you are wearing the right footwear but want to give your little piggies a break mid-flight by taking off your shoes — experts don’t want to see that either.

Negroni told The Sun that passengers should never take their shoes off, especially during take-off and landing.

“This is still not required by many airlines and I think it ought to be,” she told the outlet.

“If you escape an aircraft, the floor could be very hot or cold, it might be covered in oil or on fire, or in a cornfield – you won’t want to be barefoot,” Negroni explained.
